Vintage Decoys

3 Original “working” decoys carved by Charlie Bryans, Middle River, Maryland 

    The two duck decoys were used by The 3-F hunting club on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and quit being used in the late 1960's. All have original paint, weights and rigging hardware. 

   I do believe that the goose decoy is much older that the ducks and at some time about 1970 the head was replaced. It was once owned by, and given to me by Charlie Gunther who was one of the last living "market hunters" on the Chesapeake Bay. He gave it to me some time around 1975. I believe that he was in his 70's at that time.

Bluebill drake -Excellent original condition

Canvasback drake. Excellent original paint. It has a crack in the neck (shows use) and has 3-F engraved on the bottom.

Canada Goose. You can tell that it has been well used and has some damage on the tail where a young retriever chewed on it

Antique hand carved fish decoys - Excellent original condition

All three have actually been used for spear fishing. They are all in excellent condition and come from somewhere in the upper midwest (probably MN).
